Salmon River Getaway

This is a hidden gem! Quiet, private, right on the Salmon River. The kitchen was stocked with whatever we needed, beds were comfortable, and we were so impressed with this rental! As always, the office is so nice, friendly and easy to work with. The only reason the 4 stars for condition, is the hot tub really wasn't working; and we specifically inquired about that before renting. Only one corner of jets worked, it could not heat hotter than 93 degrees and the lights didn't work. BUT the house was so great, really didn't affect us!

Our mission was to have a quiet and peaceful 4th of July for our senior dog...accomplished. Listening to the sound of the river was perfect for his humans. Very relaxing.

As for the accommodations, it left a lot to be desired, at least for us. Especially for this nightly rate! There is rustic and then there is this. So many updates need to be done and some as simple as maybe some new curtains in the livingroom, or at least put a decent hem in them. The bath and kitchen towels were old, dingy and fraying. The only comfortable furniture was the queen bed in the front bedroom. The livingroom furniture was really bad, in terms of comfort. We ended up using the beanbag chairs, which for us older folks, wasn't ideal.
There were many items lacking in the kitchen for food preparation. Kudos to the PM for doing a little shopping and coming to the rescue. Some basics would be nice as well, like maybe a couple of simple spices, some regular vegetable oil, and how about a little starter bag of coffee? Bath soap bigger than the teeny-tiny bar provided? To borrow from the TV program "Vacation House Rules", maybe Rule # Your Own Guest!

Finally, it's possible that the PUR water filter needs to be changed? We can't confirm anything, but both my husband and I became violently ill. Him on the 2nd to last day of our stay, and me the day after we got home. I'll spare you the details, but it was BAD! Consider bottled water (even for cooking) and ice purchased at the store.

Let me begin by stating that this is NOT the cabin that I originally booked. Six weeks before our vacation All Seasons Rentals notified me that the cabin I had reserved was being put on the market and was not available. I had already paid a deposit and signed a rental agreement. I am not happy that the rental agreement was not upheld. All Seasons stated that they were holding Salmon River Getaway for me. It was an upgrade from the other cabin but they would generously keep the rates the same. There is no way that this cabin is an upgrade. It’s missing a second queen bed, a washer/dryer (a desired amenity), a fenced dog run and a functional kitchen. With only six weeks before our vacation there were no other comparable cabins available. I will never do business with All Seasons Rentals again.
Review for Salmon River Getaway: there’s a funky mildew/dog smell that permeates your clothes and sticks around long after you’ve left this cabin behind. It set off my asthma cough. The queen bed takes up most of the bedroom, making it difficult to move around the bed without hitting your legs on the bed frame. There was no room to store our suitcases in this room. There is a resident mouse that’s been there for some time as evidenced by the dirty sticky trap beside the mouse hole on the kitchen. There were mouse feces on the countertop, on the food containers, in the bowls, skillets and trays. Everything had to be washed before we could use it making me question the value of the $125 cleaning fee. The kitchen is a hodgepodge of five different countertops, none of which is particularly useful for meal prep. The appliances are fairly new and work well. There are neighbors close by on both sides and behind, but they were quiet. The bathroom is very tiny but functional. My overall impression is that this is an older cabin that has not been well maintained but has been dressed up with new carpet and light fixtures. The source of the smell needs to b

Second time here and we will come back again and again. Quaint, clean, and basically isolated. One other place.past this on the road. Hot tub is the perfect size, sounding the river lulls you to sleep

The hot tub failed on us the second night. kind of a bummer. I think the fail we on our part. there is a weird lock out setting on the heat. don't press to many buttons.

We loved the wood burning stove, hot tub and the sound of the river. This was the perfect place to stay and had everything we needed. Would definitely go back again.

This was perfect for a couples “unplug” get-away! We desperately needed time away to unplug and we got it! We enjoyed the river, the forest, quiet coffee in the morning on the deck, reading time, deer gracing our presence, hummingbirds feeding, and more! We didn’t get to use the fire pit and never used the hot tub, but everything was clean and comfy. The kitchen had all the basics as well! We plan on coming back this fall!

We stayed here during the Covid summer and it was so nice in the quiet forest sitting on the deck listening to to the creek (technically a river) sipping wine and enjoying the hot tub. Very peaceful.

Great location, close to Welches grocery store but secluded enough also, right on the Salmon River, and good access to hiking around Mt. Hood. Very comfortable stay for our family of four - kids (4, 6) enjoyed the bunk beds. We especially liked the indoor stove to heat the house on cool evenings.

Cozy property right off hwy 26 but far enough into the woods that everything was quiet. We enjoyed two days/nights here hiking and relaxing. The property is near several hiking trails and right across from the Salmon river. Inside had everything you could need and was very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

It was a really enjoyable experience. The house was fully furnished and had a lived-in feel. It had cookware, dishes, glasses, utensils, cleaning supplies, board games, movies, DVD and VHS player, a TV, cable TV, a Wii with Netflix, a hot tub, a fire pit, a wood-burning stove, electric baseboard heaters, towels, washcloths, vacuum cleaner, broom and dustpan, .... everything. And no one ever came by to bug us or ask us how we were doing.

Cute little cabin right on the a beautiful river. The cabin is small, but very cozy and great for 4 people. The kitchen is well equipped, we cooked some big meals. The hot tub was great to sit in and listen to the river and watch the snow fall. It is on a very quiet road, which gave it privacy despite the hot tub being on the front porch near the gravel road.

The cabin was spotless clean, very comfortable, and had everything we needed. I was particularly happy that the window screens fit well and were clean so I felt okay about leaving the bedroom windows slightly open all night to listen to the river. So soothing! The beds were comfortable, the towels were luxurious, the entertainment system was great, and the hot tub was clean and ready for us to soak in. The cabin isn't fancy, but it is so clean, comfortable and well equipped that it was perfect! The setting is so quiet and peaceful, while not far off the highway, it is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac along the river. So beautifully scenic and peaceful! I loved this little cabin and plan to revisit it!

The cottage is right on the river! I took my boyfriend here for the weekend for his birthday and it was just perfect. I was worried because there is no air conditioning but the night cooled right off and opening the window was perfect. would love to do it again :)
