Rockin Rhody Retreat

We were up for Christmas and all the adult children and dogs had a great time. Plenty of room for all. The forest the house is in is gorgeous. The hot tub site under the trees next to the house and works great. The kitchen was a good size to prepare big family meals as well as the dining table fit 12 .

The house is nestled in the woods just a few yards from highway 26. It looks like you're in the wilds of Oregon but sounds like a freeway rest stop.

Beds are comfy. House is clean and well equipped. Lots of beds for a large party.

Tried to get a late checkout on Sunday but no one answered the phone and the office was closed.

Comfortable, clean, and great amenities! I am happy with the size of the house and fit our group of 8 adults and 3 children very well. I am pleased with how clean it was. They provided shampoo, conditioner, and soaps and had really a nice washer and dryer. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the hot tub was delightful! You sometimes never know what you are going to get with certain reviews, but I am someone who can’t even sleep if I don’t feel like the place is safe or clean and I slept great! The hot tub worked well and was clean. We enjoyed this place very much and although the last 9 years we typically find a different place to stay, we talked about renting this place again since it accommodates my families size so well. Also, the property management company had great customer service! I had to call a few times with questions when our plans changed with pet sitters cancelling and a few other things and they were very helpful and accommodating.

The house was great. Huge, well stocked, comfortable. Great hot tub. Everything was as described and I would definitely stay there again.

It was so cold in the downstairs, we were cold the entire time, there was mold on the down stairs bathroom shower curtain, the blankets smelled with a stale smell, there was a knocking noise coming from the meter that you could hear up stairs in the bedrooms that went off every couple of minutes, I don’t like to complain because no one is perfect, but this was the worse place I have ever rented. This place should not be rented in the winter months

We stayed for a long weekend at the cabin with 3 other families and it was lovely! The fireplace is just amazing and the leather couches surrounding it incredibly comfy. It feels secluded even with the highway near. There are trails nearby for walking and a small grocery within walking distance if you've forgotten anything. There are tons of games and a great big dining table to play them at! The kids loved the nintendo games, too, but wifi was pretty spotty.

Like some of the other reviews mentioned, a few of the drawers in the kitchen are liable to spill out onto the floor if pulled out even halfway - I'd definitely fix that as children could really hurt themselves. The kitchen is fully stocked (we couldn't find the cord to the big pancake grill, alas, but there were many big pans). There's not much room to stash groceries. We made do with the butcher block table in the dining room and it was fine.

The only real disappointment was that the hot tub wasn't working and we were unable to get anyone out over the weekend to fix it.

All in all, we had a wonderful weekend!

Had a great vacation in this cabin for my wife's Birthday.We really enjoyed the hot tub and the big fireplace.We will definitely be coming back here again.

This place was fantastic and I highly recommend it. The fireplace is incredible, one of the largest I’ve ever seen and it created such a cozy ambiance. Things to know: I don’t think any of the pictures show that there is a nice flat screen TV in the living room with cable which I think some past reviews may have mentioned it didn’t have. There really are 5.5 bedrooms. In addition to the one king room, three queen rooms and the bunk room with the 3 sets of bunk beds, there is a small room with a futon as well. It was much appreciated when we realized one of our group who was supposed to sleep in the bunk room has a snoring problem. The hot tub was lovely but the deck was very very slippery so be cautious. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, great proximity to ski bowl. We had a fantastic stay and works recommend it to anyone. Very friendly staff at the rental office.

The location was excellent for our trip, my kids loved it, except for the hot tub even know we didn’t use it it was not lock, and eater was dirty, but we want to come back soon

The pictures are nicer then the actual property. The hot tub is off to the side of the house with nothing protecting you from the dirt and sticks around it and nothing above to help protect you from the rain. Be careful with that because you will get charged for “not clear water” so I would recommend not going in the hot tub, especially if you have children with you. There was cigarette butts and beer cans that were left there from the people before us and we got charged for that. Extra charges for 2 extra garbage bags when we had stayed in this home for a week with 7 children all under the age 12. The furniture was terrible. There is no channels except 1. I would never recommend anyone to stay here. Especially if you have a big family with small children. There are lot of extra charges within the contract.

We had a very nice stay at the cabin and loved spending time in the hot tub! There is plenty of space for family and old nostalgic movies to share with the kids. The wooded area provided a nice buffer from the highway and a fun area to explore. The fire place burned nice and hot, but I would bring extra firewood AND kindling as they did not leave enough for our 2 night stay as they stated. There is a little market and specialty pizza shop just up the road you can walk to which was nice for last minute items. Overall we had great stay and would come again.

The cabin was the perfect weekend getaway. We loved using the fireplace and then soaking in the hot tub after hiking.

We had a full house of college buddies, several who hadn't connected since leaving school back in 2000. Pamela @ All Season's is a champion!

Relaxed, comfortable and well equipped lodging. The house is approximately 10 miles from Government Camp (near Ski Bowl, Mt. Hood Meadows and Timberline Lodge. Short stroll to small village store, coffee stand and Mountainology for rental gear including snowshoes and cross country skis.

I stayed a Rockin' Rhody with a group of friends who planned to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Upon arrival, the property managers were too kind, even showed us where we could go mushroom hunting on the Zigzag. The house was so nice, kitchen had just about every utensil needed for cooking a feast, every room felt cozy and plenty of space for 10 people! We would love to make this a yearly getaway!

Had a larger group of 12 guys stay here and we had a great time. Plenty of space to play yard games and walking distance to the Market. The location is perfect and we were able to drive a short distance to go on a hike. Plenty of room in the cabin for everyone to sleep comfortably. Would definitely rent this again!

We had a great time in our rental, the home was very clean, nice location and enjoyable. You feel very secluded with the huge trees around, it was nice and relaxing.

The location very convenient, easy to access, and was nicely secluded from the neighbors. House was in clean, in good condition, and was well stocked with dishes, towels, furniture, etc. There were plenty of beds and space for a good sized group. I would recommend the owner installs a hand rail to the second floor as the stair are very steep and slippery with narrow treads. Also a path to the hot tub would help reduce debris being tracked into it. Overall an awesome house at a very reasonable rate. I would recommend it!

Negatives - road traffic noise is unbearable at night, one of the couples went home early because of it, Pictures on VRBO show hottub on porch but it was moved to side of house,

The Rockin Rhody is a great rental for a large group. The sleeping spaces are all comfortable, and the large living room and dining table make it easy to share space. And it is in a very convenient area: close to Portland and short drive to Government Camp.

Just a few things to be aware of:
- it is close to Hwy 26 (can hear the hwy traffic)
- the hot tub is not in a covered area as shown
- a few kitchen drawers come out if opened too far (could be hazardous)

Otherwise, a great rental and easy rental company to work with.

Upon arrival we noticed that the hot tub is not on the porch, and it's right next to the front doors. We were sad because one of the reasons for booking this rental was how nice it was to not have to walk in the snow to get to the hot tub, so that went unused. The garage is probably only for summer use, as there were no lights or space heaters in there.
The house was very spacious. Kitchen drawers could use some fixing. Other than that it was nice.

Great place to spend tbe weekend with a large family.

Great location and amazing house, my friends and I had a great time. The only complaint was that some of the drawers in the kitchen are too loose and fall out easily (including ones with sharp knives). We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time and had lots if snow. The house was a great size but a bit rustic. The kitchen drawers need fixing before someone has a heart attack thinking that they will fal out on the floor. Wonderful dining area.

We had a Great time, we loved how the house was set up, it had good seating area, loved the dinning rm.

Perfect and spacious! My only suggestion is to put in a hand rail on the stairs. The house has settled over time and the stairs slope. Not a big ussue but harder for the little ones. Really appreciated baby gates being provided!!!

The cabin was perfect for celebrating Christmas with family from Texas. The snow was falling outside, the fire was crackling inside while we open gifts and enjoyed being together. The children were able to enjoy skiing for the first time. The cabin was perfect! Room for everyone and plenty of items in the kitchen to cook Christmas dinner.

I rented this house as a surprise for my fiance's 40th birthday. We visited with 11 of our friends and played board games all weekend. The house was lovely, with room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked, although we did run out of room for all of the food we brought :) A couple of things to note, the hot tub is no longer under cover as it appears in the photos. The stairway to go up to most of the bedrooms is fairly steep and there is not handrail, so be aware of this if you have anyone with physical disabilites in your group. We were so happy to get to bring our dog along with us, too! Thank you!

Liked the home. Good size and good for a large group. Setting is great except the house is about 150' from hwy 26 and with the trucks braking downhill it is very difficult to even have a conversation in the back yard. Otherwise a good place. I would not recommend this house if you plan to relax outside or open the windows. I wish we had some type of warning. Might make a great winter retreat.

Our family of 8 stayed at Rockin Rhody Retreat to attend a July wedding of our nephew. We had family members from Utah, CA and Australia. It was very pleasant, a bit dated and rustic, but had charm. There was plenty of room for all of us. We enjoyed the DVD player to watch baby videos of the groom, enjoyed the large kitchen table and ping pong table in the garage.
Several drawbacks: no hand rail on the narrow, steep & uneven stairs, tiny shower upstairs, and no place to hang clothes. The king bed mattress and downstairs queen bed mattress needs replacing and were not very comfortable. The road noise was very loud all night and that made it necessary to close the windows which kept the room hot and hard to sleep. There was no ironing board or iron which we needed to get our clothes ready for the wedding, but the friendly staff brought them over right away. I recommend a nightlight in both bathrooms.
Over all, it was great for our large group and we have some nice memories.

Cabin and property generally what expected. Highway noise was loud and the compression braking trucks kept us up both nights. It's an old house that creaks and makes lots of noise so this is not a place for light sleepers. The matress in the downstairs bedroom needs to be replaced. The silverware drawer in the kitchen should also be fully repaired. Great stock of games and movies.

The cabin was in great condition. The beds were comfortable enough and the kitchen was well stocked with all dishes and utensils needed. Everyone in our group had a great time with plenty of activities at the cabin including the hot tub, games & BBQ! It is a bit of a drive from the ski resorts, but there was not much snow on the mountains so that was okay for this trip :) It was easy to book and nice that we could buy our lift tickets at the front desk at a discounted price.

We had a wonderful time. Rockin Rhody Retreat was perfect! We could not hear the kids while they were upstairs playing either in their room or play room. It was so relaxing and fun. The property management was so friendly and had the home ready when we arrived. It was so clean and stocked. It was so welcoming when we got to the home the lights were on and soft music was playing. We will be back next year for sure!! Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay, plenty of fire wood for roaring fires was a plus! My only concern was that it was too close to 26 and you had the sound of traffic.

Perfect spot! Clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook the weekend away. Hot tub was perfect and this cabin is close to a great restaurant and store!
